A scan of the brain and its blood vessels, for stroke, tumours and vessel malformations. MRI uses no radiation.

How your check-up day goes

Most of the day is quiet waiting between short tests. Your clinic sends the exact times and instructions in advance.

The evening before
Fast and rest
No food after dinner, and no alcohol. If you have a colonoscopy, you take the bowel preparation the clinic gives you.

Check in
Arrive early in the morning with your passport, change into a gown and receive your test schedule.

Before you come

How to prepare

Your clinic sends exact instructions with your confirmation. In general:

Eat nothing after dinner the evening before, and skip alcohol
Bring your passport and a list of the medicines you take
Tell the clinic if you may be pregnant
If your package has a pap smear or urine tests, avoid the days of your period
After a sedated endoscopy, do not drive for the rest of the day

Check-up questions

Do I need to fast before the check-up?

Yes. Every level includes a gastroscopy and blood tests, so you come with an empty stomach. Your clinic confirms when to stop eating and drinking.

Is the endoscopy uncomfortable?

The gastroscopy and colonoscopy in these packages are done under conscious sedation: you are drowsy and comfortable, and many people remember little of it. You rest for a while afterwards before you go.

Are the tests the same at every clinic?

Yes for Practical Basic, Standard and Noblesse: they follow the same test list at every partner clinic, so you only compare price and location. VVIP check-ups differ by hospital.

Can I choose or add tests?

Each level includes optional tests you pick yourself, such as a CT scan, an echocardiogram or a colonoscopy. For more, look at the VVIP check-ups, or ask our team.

What does VVIP add?

VVIP adds a brain MRI and MRA, a CT scan of your choice and a specialised blood panel (dementia risk markers, HbA1c, autoimmune and H. pylori tests) to a Noblesse-level screening. When do I get my results?

A doctor goes through your first results with you on the day. Some lab results take longer; the full report follows once everything is in.

Does my health insurance cover it?

Salpim does not handle insurance claims. If you hope to claim the cost, ask your insurer before you book.
